A peer-driven network of Expungement Navigators who have successfully completed the expungement process to guide and support other indigent Kentuckians through the in forma pauperis legal process under the Kentucky Clean Slate initiative.

Offer

Navigator Support Network

Establish a robust support system for Navigators, including mentorship, ongoing training, and access to legal resources. Foster a strong sense of community among Navigators to enhance their effectiveness.

Case Navigation and Advocacy

​Equip Navigators with the tools and resources to assist clients with completing expungement paperwork, understanding court procedures, and navigating the legal system. Foster a collaborative relationship with legal aid organizations and pro bono attorneys for complex cases.

Navigator Recruitment and Training

 Identify and recruit individuals with successful expungement experiences to become Expungement Navigators.

Peer Navigator Support

 Navigators will provide emotional support, share practical knowledge gained from their own experiences, and guide clients through the expungement process.

Community Outreach and Education

Engage with community organizations to raise awareness about the Clean Slate law and the Expungement Nexus program. Conduct educational workshops and seminars to empower individuals with the knowledge to pursue expungement.

Training & Support  

​Provide comprehensive training on the Clean Slate law, expungement process, in forma pauperis procedures, and client advocacy skills.

GOD RAP

Establish a peer-driven network of Expungement Navigators - individuals who have successfully expunged their own records - to guide Second Chance Citizens through the Kentucky Clean Slate initiative using a Good Orderly Direction (GOD) Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) approach.

Utilize the GOD RAP framework to empower clients to take ownership of their expungement journey.

 

This includes Goal setting, Obstacle identification, Development of action plans, Rehearsal for potential challenges, Accountability measures, and Plan updates as needed.
